The Lodge at Gulf State Park Wedding Day
Oh my, this Lodge at Gulf State park wedding is a special one! Olivia and I have been friends since first grade. Yep, that’s right! We have been friends for over two decades, and when she asked me to travel to her Gulf Shores wedding, I couldn’t have been more honored. Olivia + Michael are just the best couple, and they surround themselves by amazing people as well. Not only did they plan a wedding during COVID times, they had to re-plan their day at the last minute thanks to Hurricane Sally! They handled the obstacles with such joy and grace! It was so amazing to see how perfectly the day turned out!
The Wedding Day
The girls got ready at The Lodge at Gulf State Park, while the guys spent the morning fishing out on the beautiful Gulf. This was one was so fun for me, because being around Olivia, her mom, and her sisters all morning just felt like a blast from the past! It was awesome. The girls carried the most beautiful beach inspired florals, that complimented the amazing arch at the ceremony so perfectly!
The weather was seriously the most perfect beach wedding weather that could have ever existed! Cool with a little bit of a breeze, cold sand – it seriously couldn’t have been better! The ceremony went off without a hitch, and the set up couldn’t have been more picturesque.
The Couple
One thing that was so special to me on this day was seeing all the love this couple is surrounded by. It’s pretty cool to see one of your friends you grew up with learning Bible verses in elementary school grow up to be surrounded by an incredible group of Godly men and women who know and love them so well, and surrounded them with prayer on their wedding day!
Another important point – Olivia and Michael might be two of the most photogenic people I’ve ever met. They are so natural and fun in front of the camera and together – I literally favorited so many photos! I couldn’t stop myself!
Yep… I told you they were photogenic!! After a year of COVID, let me just say how amazing it felt to be photographing a reception again! Their band absolutely killed it, and everyone had so much fun dancing the night away at this Lodge at Gulf State Park wedding.
Let me just say it one more time – I am so thankful that I got to be a part of this wedding day! It’s one I will always remember.
